In truth, current developments in Scotland point to the eventual introduction of some form of English-only votes at Westminster. The most likely outcome of the Scottish referendum is that the Scots vote “no” to independence in 2014, but that there will then be an irresistible demand – endorsed by the Scottish Labour party, what is left of the Lib Dems and parts of the Tory party north and south of the border – for a further extension of the Scottish Parliament’s powers..
